Referral Management
You’ll need a referral for any care your primary care manager doesn’t provide, such as urgent, preventive, mental health, or specialty care, you will need a referral.

Patient Travel
If you’re referred by your PCM for specialty care at a location over 100 miles (one way) from your PCM’s office, you may be eligible for TRICARE Prime travel reimbursement. Once you’re referred, visit the patient administration office in the main hospital or call 850-883-8251. To learn more, visit

Secretarial Designee Program
Per Air Force Manual 41-210,
TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration, the Secretary of Defense (or his/her designee) and/or the Secretary of the Army, Navy and the Air Force may designate individuals not otherwise entitled, for DOD health care (medical and dental) direct care. The Secretarial Designee Program only authorizes care within MTFs. To see if you apply, contact your PCM or patient administration. Please note that the process takes several weeks for approval, so contact us as soon as possible.

Medical Records and Release of Information
Release of Information fulfills requests and provides various services for continuity of care documentation, service member retirements, insurance claims, and others. Continuity of care requests can be made by the patients and/or treating facility by visiting Outpatient Records/ROI in the main hospital. Patients may request copies of their medical records using DD Form 2870. Please allow up to 21 duty days for record requests to be filled.

Beneficiary Counseling Assistance Coordinator/Debt Collections Assistance Officer
BCACs/DCAOs aid with processing claims, appeals, and debts, along with educating the population about medical benefits.
