Multi-Service Inpatient Unit
We are a 35-bed Multi-Service Inpatient Unit (MSU), which provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric age who have significant illnesses or injuries requiring 24-hour a day monitoring or frequent interventions. We admit patients from 22 different specialties, including women's health, urology, orthopedics, pediatrics, family medicine, ear/nose/throat, general surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, etc. We provide these patients with continuous assessment while monitoring vital signs and the patient’s response to equipment, treatment therapies, and medications. Our unit is staffed by highly trained nurses and technicians who specialize in caring for ill patients. Common medical conditions treated in our unit include chest pain, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, infections, and other non-life-threatening conditions. Common surgical conditions treated in our unit include total hip replacements, total knee replacements, appendicitis, thyroidectomies, hysterectomies, etc. We also cover care and management of mothers and babies after delivery. Patients may be referred directly from the emergency department if required, or from a clinic after a full provider evaluation. Each patient is admitted through a provider from one of the 22 specialty clinics.
